An attractively written and properly set post will attract more visitors and give better search results. In addition to writing a good post we have to maintain a proper record of the articles posted on our blog. We must also keep an up to date record of our permalinks also. An improperly written post may spoil the decorum of our blog. Though the newer versions of Microsoft Word have options to write blog posts for all popular blogging platforms but writing a post using blogger text editor will be the best option. 1. Post Title of a blog post – This is the subject of the entire post. The standard length of the post title is 70 characters. This must contain maximum “Key Words”. No matter if the post title slightly exceeds 70 characters but it must not look awkward.

2. What are Key Words – While some one searches something on a web search engine he enters particular words in the search box of the search engine. For example someone wants to search something on acupressure, he enters the word “Acupressure” . Another person wants to search something about the medicines banned or prohibited for some reason, he will enter the word “Banned Medicines”. Another person wants to search something on computer safety, he will enter the word, “Anti Virus”, Computer Security”, “Malware protection” and so on. Here “Acupressure” , “Anti Virus”, Computer Security”, “Malware protection”, “Banned Medicines” are key words.

3. Compose or HTML mode to create a new post – While creating new posts always use compose mode but if you are quite an expert in HTML you can use HTML too. However there are some which are to be created in HTML mode only.

4. Link, Image, Video, and jump break buttons – These 4 buttons are located in the top line. It is very easy to use these buttons. Just click the button and follow the easy instructions.

5. First Paragraph of the Post – The First paragraph of the post must be, the gist or extract of the entire post. This paragraph must contain at least 480 characters without paragraph change or a jump break.

6. Uploading a Post Image – Always use genuine images and not copied from the web. Uploading images in original size is the best practice. Use images of JPEG and PNG format images only. You can use different images on different paragraphs but use a standard size image representing your entire post after the first Paragraph.

7. Jump break in a blog post – Jump break must be after first paragraph. Insert jump break in all posts because it effects number of posts to be displayed on blog home page.

8. Avoid Unnecessary spaces in the blog posts –
 Always use spaces wherever it is necessary but unnecessary or excessive spaces may spoil the look of your post but If you think that a space is necessary you must use.

9. Size of a Blog post – There is no specific size of a blog post is defined by blogger but the standard size of a page is defined 320 KB by World Wide Web. A blog must write the posts of not less then 300 words. If you think a single post looks too long you can upload it in parts.

10. Formatting the blog post text – If you write the blog post direct on blogger its ok otherwise it will be better to copy and paste the post at blogger and select the entire post. Now press ‘CTRL’+’Space bar’ to remove the existing formatting and reset the entire post.

11. Use of blog post Heading and Sub headings – You can easily decide the headings and sub headings in a post. Please note that if you create a heading or sub heading you can not write anything in the same line otherwise the entire paragraph will be converted in heading. The software will automatically set the space before and after line used as heading. To create a heading or sub heading just select the heading then click dropdown box near “Normal” and select heading or sub heading.

12. Setting The Font of a blog post -
 Select the text and click the dropdown box near “F” and select your desired font.

13. Setting The Font size of a blog post – Select the text and click the dropdown box near “TT” and select ‘Smallest’, ‘Small’, ‘Normal’, ‘Large’, or ‘Largest’ as you wish.

14. Summing up a blog post – In the end writing a summing up paragraph will be a best practice.

15. Creating Labels of Blog Posts – Labels are to categorize our blog posts so that our readers can easily find what they want to read. If we do not create labels properly, our site map will not work. We can create 2000 labels in a single blog/website and each label can contain 20 blog posts.

16. Search Description of a blog post – Always use this option while uploading a post for better search results. Include maximum keywords and all headings and sub headings in the search description.

17. Keep a copy of All your blog posts – Always save a copy of all your posts on the hard drive of your computer.

21. Keep a record of All your blog permalinks – Always keep a record of your of your permalinks on your computer. You can prepare a fine table of post heading, Date op posting or more records.
