How to add blog to Google webmaster and verify blog ownership at Google webmaster-We must always register our blogs and websites to Google webmaster and get the ownership of our blogs and sites verified. Though the search results of our blogs and website will have no effect weather verified or not but there are many useful services at Google webmaster tools which only verified blog/site owners can use. For example if you want to use a custom domain on your blog, you can not use it until you are the verified owner of your blog. Moreover the verification process is very simple and easy. Just go to google webmaster’s website, get the meta tag or code and insert it to your blog’s HTML file. These  are the easy steps to complete the verification process –

Google has provided many methods to verify your blog ownership but in my view the easiest process is inserting a meta tag provided by Google in your blog’s HTML document, however you may prefer other method. The entire process involves three steps. Step one- to get the meta tag at Google webmaster’s website, step two- insert the meta tag in your blog’s HTML document and step three – get verified.

Where to insert the blog ownership verification Meta tag generated by Google

This is a problem faced by most of the new bloggers that where should they insert the Meta tag generated by Google for the purpose to verifying their blog ownership in the multipage HTML document. The answer is that the meta tag is to be inserted in the head section of the HTML document.

How to find head section of an HTML document

It is very easy. You can find the head section of your HTML document, almost in the beginning. You can use HTML search box. To open the HTML search box click anywhere  in the open HTML document and then press ‘CTRL+F’. The HTML search box will appear in the top right hand corner of the HTML document. The head section exists between Opening HTML Tag <HEAD> and closing HTML Tag </HEAD>. The entire thing between the Opening HTML Tag <HEAD> and closing HTML Tag </HEAD> is the head section of the HTML document. You can insert the blog ownership verification Meta tag generated by Google anywhere between the Opening HTML Tag <HEAD> and closing HTML Tag </HEAD>.

Now please insert the blog ownership verification Meta tag generated by Google anywhere between the Opening HTML Tag <HEAD> and closing HTML Tag </HEAD>.

Now safely save your HTML document.

Now to complete the final step please go back  to Google webmaster page where we left before coming to the HTML document.

Click on red ‘verify’ button as shown above.

If you have done everything correctly your blog ownership will be verified and you must receive the following message.
