How to install or upload a custom template on your blog- Though blogger has a large stock of beautiful and excellent templates yet you are allowed to install the templates of your own choice from a source other than blogger. You can download any template of your choice and upload it to your blog at any time. A lot of good templates are available on the web to download and use on your blog at no cost and you need not to purchase a template, however you are at liberty to get a template at cost. Uploading a custom template on your blog is very easy. Just download the template of your choice, save it to your hard drive and follow these simple steps –

First of all you backup your blog and template and save the backup on your hard drive. To backup your blog and template –
1. Login to your blogger dash board.

2. Click the dropdown box as indicated at (1) in the image.

3. Clock “Template” as indicated at (2) in the image. The next screen will appear.

4. Now click “Backup/Restore” in the the right hand corner near the gear icon. The next screen will appear.

5. Now click “Download full template”

6. The template xml file will be downloaded and save it to your hard disk.(Here the backup of your template is complete. Now you have to install the custom template on your blog.)

7. To start the new template uplpading, click “Browse” below “Download full template”

8. You will be taken to your computer. Now click the driver where you have save your downloaded template.

9. Go to the folder and open it and find the xml file and click it.

10. Now click ‘Open’. The file will appear on the screen.

11. Now click “Upload”.

12. You must receive a message “Uploaded Successfully”

That’s all, you are done.
