1.       Open ‘Notepad’.
2.       Type – del c:\windows\prefetch\ntosboot-*.* /q .
3.       Save the file in the name ntosboot.bat in your where windows xp is installed.
4.       Click start
5.       Run command
6.       Type gpedit.msc.
7.       Under ‘computer configuration’ double click ‘Windows Setting’
8.       In the right window Double click ‘Shutdown’.
9.       In the new windows click ‘add’.
10.   Click ‘Browse’
11.   Locate batch file  ‘ntosboot.bat’ and click open.
12.   Click ‘Apply’, click ‘OK’.
13.   To exit Click ‘OK’ again.
14.   Again click start.
15.   Run command and type – devmgmt.msc.
16.   Double click – IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
17.   Now right click – Primary IDE Channel.
18.   Select – Properties.
19.   Select advanced settings
20.   Select – none instead of – autodetect and click OK.
21.   Right click – Secondary IDE channel
22.   Select properties.
23.   Select advanced settings
24.   Select – none instead of – autodetect and click OK.
25.   Restart your computer and you are done.
