Optimize Blogpost image-Property-Title Text, Alt Text, Image size, Alignment, Add caption-While writing the post most of the bloggers upload images relevant to the post. Thumbnails of the images are displayed on the home page with the gist and in popular posts and recent posts. A good image can add laurels to your post and make it attractive. If properly optimized, images play an important role in search results too. Therefore always optimize your blog post images. The optimization of a blog post image involves a number of actions but in this post I will discuss about Image size, Image alignment, Image caption and the most Important “the Property” or “the Title Text” and “ The Alt Text”.

How to Upload the Blog Post Image


To upload your image

1.       Click and leave your cursor where you want to upload the image.

2.       Click the Image icon on the top.

3.       Now file selection screen will appear.

4.       Click ‘choose files’.

5.       You will be directed to your computer to select a location from where you want to choose your image. Please go to the location from where you want to pickup your image.

6.       Please click the image and click open. Now the image will appear.

7.       Click ‘add selected’.

8.       Now the image will appear where you left the cursor.

Here your blog post image optimization process begins.

Click anywhere on the image, a menu as shown below will appear.

How to Optimize the size of the Blog Post Image


The first section of the Menu is about the size of the image. It provides 5 options namely ‘Small’, ‘Medium’, ‘Large’, ‘X-Large(This means Extra Large)’ and ‘Original size’. Here you can set the size of the size by clicking any option but for best appearance of the image you must always select “Original Size”.

How to Align the Blog Post Image


The next section of the Menu is about the alignment of the image. It provides 3 options namely ‘Left’, ‘Centre’, and ‘Right’. It is advisable to align small size images to left or right and medium, large and X-large size images to the Centre.

How to Add Caption to the Blog Post Image


The next section of the Menu is about adding a caption the image. Click on ‘add caption’, a highlighted and centre aligned “Add Caption” text will appear just below the image like this Add Caption. Write the caption here. Whatever you write, it will be centre aligned automatically as per the size of the Image.

How to Add “Title Text” and “Alt Text” to the Blog Post Image


The next section of the Menu is about the “Property” of the image. This is the most Important section of the blog post image optimization. Now click on the ‘Property’, the following two options “Title Text” and “Alt Text” will appear as shown in the Image below –

The ‘Title’ and ‘Alt’  both are HTML attributes used in Image tags thus create a confusion as whether one of them or both are to be used. We can’t even ignore it as it will have direct impact on search ranking. As the Image(<img>) Tag used to define images to display in web pages, supports both the attributes “Title’ and ‘Alt’ to describe the relevant image in words. You can always apply the simple rule that if the image is a link, use “Title Text” and where there is no link use ‘Alt Text”. The “Alt Text” will be effective even if we have used the “Title Text”.
