How to Find Your lost android Phone without installing any app  using  a  Phone, Tablet, Laptop or a PC

Friends if you have lost your Android smart phone or your Android smart phone is stolen it is a matter of great concern because you have lost not only your costly hand set but extremely valuable data too. There are a number of apps available on the web to trace it out but if you have an Android smart phone with operating system version 2.70 or above, you do not need any application. The Android Device manager is the best option and in my view no other app is better than this

you have to select both the boxes above

Now your android device manager settings are up to date and you don’t need any extra app to locate your Android smart phone in case of loss or stolen.

In next step I am going to explain the procedure to locate your Android smart phone in case of loss or theft. As you have lost your Android smart phone, you need another device to locate it. May it be a computer, a laptop, a tablet PC or another smart phone. The procedure is same for computer, laptop, tablet PC, or another smart phone but considering speed and ease of use computer may be the best option.

The next step is to visit the official web site of android device manager. Now open your browser, write the URL of the official website of android device manager(https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager) or search the web. Though the URL of android device manager is simple and very easy to remember(https:// www. google. com(slash)android(slash)devicemanager) but in most of the cases people don’t remember the URL so let us search the web. Type ‘android device manager’  in the search box, The result will be displayed on the top of the page like this -
Search android device manager
Search android device manager
Please click to visit the android device manager official web site. You will be prompted to login. Here you have to use the credentials used to register the device to be traced. As you login the details and present location details of the lost/stolen smart phone will be displayed like this.

Now my phone is active in Krishna colony and as you see my phone’s exact location ‘Krishna colony’ has been displayed by the device manager, in addition, phone’s model, battery level and Wi-Fi status are also displayed.
What more can Android device manager do
Now you see there are three more options visible in the image above. These three options are very important.
1-   PLAY sound – if you click it, your phone will ring at full volume for five minutes even if it is in silent mode. This option may prove very useful if you have placed your phone somewhere and forgot it.
2-   Lock – This option is used to remotely lock the device. You can write a message or a contact number so that if the finder want to contact he may contact. When you click lock the following screen will appear. Please enter and repeat the password, enter a short message, a contact number and click lock

Please note that the message must be small so that this message and the contact number are always visible on the screen so that if the finder want to contact you he can easily do so.

3-   Erase The last option is erase and it must be used  only when you have given up the hope of getting your phone back and want to say last good bye to your phone, because when you run ’Erase’ everything from your phone including SD card if any will be wiped off and the phone will go to factory reset. The phone will be removed from the android device manager also. The great benefit of this action is that you can save your valuable data from falling into criminals or improper hands.
What happens if your Android smart phone is switched off.
if your Android smart phone is switched off You will receive this report the same way but the report will be for the time when the phone was last switched on. Under the device model, you see “last seen Just now”, this line will be changed. For example the lost android phone was active 4 hours ago but now it is switched off, the line will be changed as “last seen 4 hours ago.”
